Upcoming Accessibility Event: Cultural Accessibility at the MCA Chicago
As organizer of a local digital accessibility meetup, I’m always looking for local accessibility wins, case studies that others can experience and learn from.
A few months ago, I ran across a video presentation by Sina Bahram on advancing the digital transformation in the cultural sector. At 4:22 in the presentation, Sina mentioned efforts at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, including describing exhibits and their website. I immediately contacted Sina via Twitter to learn more and to make contact with the folks at the museum. Working with Anna Chiaretta Lavatelli and Susan Chun, from the museum’s Design, Publishing, and New Media division, we were able to coordinate a great event.
The Chicago Digital Accessibility & Inclusive Design meetup is proud to announce an event on January 28th: Cultural Accessibility at the MCA Chicago. This meetup event will provide an opportunity to learn more about accessibility initiatives at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. The presentation will focus on two areas at the MCA where accessibility work is underway:
- the performance program
- the museum’s website
